Our Process
STEP 1: INITIAL CONSULTATION
We begin with a thorough review of your designs. Whether you have detailed spec sheets or quick sketches, we’ll discuss your vision, requirements, and any specific details you want to incorporate.
STEP 2: MODEL CREATION
After our consultation, we create a precise 3D CAD model that is both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound. We provide detailed renderings for your review and welcome any feedback or adjustments to ensure the final model meets your exact specifications.
STEP 3: THE FINAL DESIGN
After completing all revisions, we send the final renderings and, if needed, a physical 3D printed model for your approval. Once approved, you'll receive the final CAD design files, ready for production.
Modish was an exceptional partner in the design of my engagement ring collection. I had a clear vision, and they quickly produced 3D models and renderings to bring it to life. The team was very knowledgeable, supporting me throughout the creative journey to make sure the final result matched my expectations perfectly.
"Modish is extremely thorough and honest about what a design needs—not just to look great, but also to maintain structural integrity. Their renderings were so lifelike that when I finally held the ring, there were no surprises. I have nothing but positive things to say about the entire process and highly recommend working with Modish!"
FAQS
-
CAD (Computer-Aided Design) involves using a computer program to create 3D models of jewelry pieces. It's especially helpful for designing intricate stone settings with exact placements, but it’s also versatile enough to create freeform or sculptural designs. CAD enables both accuracy and creativity, allowing designers to visualize, modify, and customize pieces digitally before production.
-
A rendering in 3D modeling is a detailed, lifelike image generated from a digital model. In jewelry design, renderings allow you to visualize how a piece will look with different materials, finishes, and gemstones before it's physically created. This helps in making design decisions and presenting the final concept to clients.
-
During the design process, a 3D print involves creating a physical model of the jewelry piece in resin. This allows you to better understand the overall proportions and see the design in real life. If the design centers around a specific stone, 3D printing also allows you to place the stone into the model for a more accurate visual representation.

-
We offer free 30-minute consultation calls to determine if Modish is the right fit for your custom jewelry needs. During this call, we’ll discuss your vision, style preferences, and any specific design details you have in mind. Afterward, I’ll provide an estimate based on the time and complexity of the CAD design, which is billed hourly. This ensures a carefully crafted piece tailored to your vision.
-
The timeline for a project depends on the complexity of the piece. On average, the first version of a simple design can be completed within one week.

No, Modish is a design company only. We provide custom consultations and deliver final files that are ready to be sent to a manufacturer outside of Modish for production.
